Born may 27, 1960 in Cherenovetz, Russia. Graduated from Ural State University. Worked as a newspaper correspondent for a few years. He played accustic guitar and gave performaces - small, at friends' flats at first, then when his music became "allowed" - at the biggest festivals in Russia. He wrote 50-60 songs. In the middle of 1986 he stopped performing, and didn't make any of his new songs public. On february 17 1988 Alexander Bashlachev jupmed out of the window of his 8th level flat in St. Petersburg at the age of 27.
